Bourbon Street HD Newsletter: February 2004

The weather's been cold and dry in Bourbon Street's Colorado Springs command center, but the HD action has been - how do we say this? - HOT! HOT! HOT!
First off, some good news for all you producers: The Denver-based HDNET network is showing signs of paying actual money for original HD programming. Since it launched in ??? HDNET has offered Wal-Mart wages for content, but unlike the retail giant they seem to be coming to their senses.
True, $10,000 for 24 program minutes doesn't seem like a windfall, but keep in mind that they'll often throw in camera and post-production packages to sweeten the deal. Special events, sports programming, adventure and reality shows are ideal for a 10k budget (providing they don't require the Hilton sisters). Needless to say, Bourbon Street HD is always available to discuss options and direct producers to the right contact people at HDNET. So give us a call, our operators are standing by: (323) 376-5707.
Bourbon Street HD continues to offer its Sony 900 24P Camcorder for the staggering rate of $900 per day. And that's for both the complete camera package and a highly experienced operator, John Bourbonais. How highly experienced? Well, in just the last year Mr. Bourbonais has shot in 10 countries completing work for The Discovery Channel, ESPN, and Disney.
For a complete list of Bourbon Street's credits, as well as a camera package overview and an HD glossary, check out our website: www.bourbonhd.com. While you're there, be sure to download the Bourbon Street reel, available on 56k (pffft!) DSL (yep), or T-1 (lucky bastard!).
Well, that's all for the February edition of Bourbon Street HD's newsletter. Stay turned for the merry month of March when we'll preview a few new web features so cutting edge that to even offer a hint would have you spending the rest of your winter in a sleepless stupor.

Best regards,

John Dicker
